PHOTOSHOP EXPERIMENTATION 101

Bored as hell.

I was tasked to layout a page in our Architecture magazine and here’s what I got. I think I’m going to spend much of my time layouting stuffs this semester because unfortunately I didn’t won in being a UAPSA officer and I think this is the purpose - to be a layout artist in our department’s publication, Architrave. I attempted to enter our School’s publication, “The Buttress”, and I’m still waiting for their announcement. Hope that I will pass their screening. I’m full of hopes right now and it really feels so good.

It’s nice to be back at my 2nd home. Need to fix certain things. Back to school tomorrow. Nakakaiyak.

beben-eleben:

1. “I Don’t Know Where to Start”
Just because you don’t know where to start doesn’t mean you can’t start.

You may want to read that sentence again.

What I’m pointing to is the fact that if you feel inspired, or drawn, to do something, you can always take the next step. The only thing holding you back is a thought that you believe in.

2. “I Have Too Many Interests”

Most people are multi-passionate. We all have buckets and buckets of ideas, interests, and passions.

The problem is thinking that you have to choose the right one. Or even thinking that you can choose the right one.

Your job isn’t to predict the future, or make sure things go well. Your job is to test the idea you’re most drawn to, and see what happens.

Instead of being a seer with a crystal ball, look at yourself as an experimenter with questions.

3. “I’m Not Good Enough”
Not being good enough is a thought that you entertain.

Having the thought doesn’t make it so. If you have the thought of not being good enough, it doesn’t mean you aren’t good enough.

The same holds true when you think that you don’t have anything special to offer the world. What matters is what you feel drawn to do. What your heart calls you to do.

If you feel drawn to write, write.

If you want to paint, then paint.

You may not be the best in the world, but then again, that’s another sign to start. How are you going to learn unless you start?

My auntie asked me to draw a “family” and a “community” that she will put in their bulletin board in school. She told me to do it digitally so that she can have it printed on the computer, so I came up with this. The image on the left is the one she gave me as an example on her explanation and I borrowed it for reference. I think this is for their “Ilocano” subject, part of their mother tongue learning material for the new k-12 program. I haven’t finished the “community” drawing yet because I’m already tired, maybe I’ll do it tomorrow.
